Hi there! My name is Alyssa, and I’m the creator of Constructed Soul Studios. By now, you already know that I’m incredibly passionate about both writing and editing, but here’s some more details so you can get to know me better!
First things first, CLEARLY the most important detail: this is Mal! My partner and I adopted her when she was three months old. Never fear, despite being an adult she is still full of personality and sass. We love her very much!
Crafting & Cooking
My love of making things goes beyond writing and editing (though those are definitely my favorites). I often have several DIY projects going on at once, from making patches to add to a jacket to fixing a waistband on a pair of shorts so I can wear them for that much longer. I love not knowing how to do something and trying to figure it out, because even if it doesn’t turn out how I planned I’ve learned something valueable!
This extends to cooking too! Learning new recipes- and tweaking them- while listening to music in my kitchen is a ton of fun.
Gaming & Content Creation
Part of my love of stories extends to my love of games. It started with Pokémon as a child, expanding into games like The World Ends With You, Final Fantasy XIV, and Expedition 33. These games, as well as growing up during YouTube’s content explosion has led to me to try my hand at content creation myself.

As is the case with many, many writers and editors alike, I love to read. My go to is a solid fiction book, usually fantasy or horror, but I love switching it up with other genres or new authors I’m unfamiliar with. A few of my current favorites are A Dowry of Blood by S.T. Gibson, Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, Eragon by Christopher Paolini, and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (if you couldn’t tell).
