  • The Lord of Crows

A novel written by J. Anne Riten, follows Grim and Sif. Two people initially paired together by the Lord of Crows himself embark on an adventure for their very lives.

This is J. Anne Riten’s debut novel, currently on Campfire. I was the primary editor on the project, which was approximately 108 chapters at the time of publication.

You can find the full novel here.

  • Presentable Liberty

Presentable Liberty is a 2014 indie psychological horror video game made by Robert “Wertpol” Brock. It’s a first person game in which you receive letters from outside of a prison cell.

This video required me to develop my ability to write in several different styles, to reflect different characters writing abilities: President Tech, The Happy Buddy, and a friendly neighbor named Billie. The meta segments run throughout the playthrough and therefore needed to be cohesive both as individual pieces and as a whole. I wrote the letters displayed, and edited them as necessary throughout the project.

  • The Beginner’s Guide

The Beginner’s Guide is a first person POV game narrated by a character named Davey, talking about his friendship with Coda from beginning to end.

For this project I was tasked with writing a meta narrative to run alongside the game, in order to emphasize the themes and message already present in a way that felt more personal to BeccaBytes. I wrote the initial script for these meta segments, then made dialogue edits and other adjustments as necessary throughout the project.

  • Slay the Princess

Slay the Princess is a narrative based game, in which the player is making choices that actively impact the path in which they take. Because of this, when writing the introduction I was tasked with mimicking the style of the narration, while implementing our own narrative spin onto the project.

This involved drafting, editing, and polishing the script to then be filmed and published.

  • I Must Protect the Forest

For this particular video, I was responsible for the initial draft of the script, as well as follow up edits for clarity and phrasing. We had several discussions regarding the backstory of her character and how she wanted it to be displayed thematically to ensure that the final product would flow and sound precisely how she wanted it.
